STOW, Mass. — Prosecutors have charged a 20-year-old man with the fatal stabbing of his girlfriend in a Stow home, where police say he lay next to her body for hours before officers gained entry. Shane Curry faces murder charges in connection with the death of 17-year-old Nevaeh Goddard, according to the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office.
The incident occurred on April 5 after Curry’s mother requested a well-being check on her son, prompting Stow police to respond to the Great Road home around 4:30 p.m. Officers attempted to enter the residence for two hours, but Curry refused to let them inside, authorities said.
When police eventually gained entry, they found Goddard dead from multiple stab wounds. Curry was found lying beside her body on a mattress in his bedroom, prosecutors said. According to officials, Curry admitted to killing Goddard after a fight, using a sword to stab her several times.
Curry is currently in custody awaiting further court proceedings. Prosecutors have not released additional details about the nature of the argument or what led to the violent attack.
