Deputy Peterson removed the manhole cover and climbed into the storm drain, where she safely retrieved the uninjured puppy. The dog was later returned to its owners.

The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office shared the incident on social media, humorously noting that the puppy may have been “trying to locate the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.”
