NEW YORK — Police are searching for three suspects involved in a distraction burglary that targeted an 82-year-old man in the Bronx on Friday, September 6, 2024.
At approximately 12:40 p.m., the victim was in the vicinity of Ellison Avenue and Balcom Avenue when three unidentified males approached him and initiated a conversation. While one of the men distracted the victim, the other two entered his residence and stole two safes from his bedroom closet. The safes contained an undetermined amount of cash, jewelry, and personal identification documents.
The first suspect is described as a male with a thin build and light complexion, last seen wearing a black t-shirt, blue shorts, and black sneakers. The second suspect has a heavy build and light complexion, and was last seen wearing a baseball-style hat, brown t-shirt, tan shorts, and black/white sneakers. The third suspect, also with a heavy build and light complexion, was last seen wearing a white and black baseball-style hat, blue polo shirt, dark pants, and black sneakers.
