Watch: Violent criminals attacking NYC postal workers in multiple heists

QUEENS, N.Y. — The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying two individuals wanted in connection with a series of robberies in Queens targeting mail keys.

The first incident occurred on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at approximately 11:18 a.m. at 102-35 64 Road.

Police reported that two unidentified individuals approached a 48-year-old male victim from behind and told him, “I have a gun; give me your keys,” while one suspect simulated a weapon.

The individuals punched the victim multiple times before stealing keys to a USPS truck and mailboxes. The suspects fled on foot before escaping in a black sedan. The victim was transported to Long Island Jewish Forest Hills/Northwell Health Hospital with minor injuries.

The second incident took place the next day, Thursday, August 22, 2024, at approximately 1:27 p.m. Two unidentified individuals approached a 51-year-old male victim near 166th Street and 76th Road. The suspects exited a red sedan and demanded the victim’s mail keys, simulating a weapon. The individuals successfully took the keys and fled in the red sedan. No injuries were reported in this incident.

Police are continuing their investigation and are seeking help from the public to identify the suspects.
