NYPD Releases Video of Fleeing Rape Suspect in Brooklyn

BROOKLYN, N.Y. — The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect wanted in connection with a rape that occurred in the Brownsville section of Brooklyn.

Police reported that the incident took place on Friday, August 30, 2024, at approximately 3:02 p.m. near the intersection of Junius Street and Blake Avenue. A 22-year-old woman was engaged in conversation with an unidentified male when the individual allegedly pushed her to the ground and forced her to engage in sexual intercourse.

The suspect fled the scene on foot, last seen heading southbound on Junius Street toward Blake Avenue. Emergency Medical Services responded to the location and transported the victim to a nearby hospital, where she was treated for her injuries.

The suspect is described as a male, approximately 6’1″ tall, with a slim build and dark complexion. He was last seen wearing a black and white hat with the word “NEW YORK” on it, a black t-shirt, dark-colored pants, and black and white sneakers.

The NYPD has released images of the suspect and is urging anyone with information regarding the individual’s identity or whereabouts to come forward. The investigation remains ongoing.
