JERSEY CITY, N.J. — Mayor Steven M. Fulop invites the community to join him, City Council members, and public safety officials for a 9/11 memorial ceremony along the Jersey City waterfront on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, in remembrance of the lives lost during the September 11, 2001 terror attacks.

The ceremony will begin at 8:30 a.m. at the Jersey City 9/11 Memorial, located at the intersection of Grand Street and Hudson Street. The memorial features twisted steel beams from Ground Zero and serves as a tribute to those who lost their lives, including Jersey City residents whose names are etched on the memorial.

On the day of the attacks, the site became a vital triage center where emergency responders provided aid to those fleeing Manhattan. The ceremony will pay tribute to the victims and the heroism of the first responders.

Mayor Fulop will be joined by members of the City Council, Jersey City Police Department, and Jersey City Fire Department, along with family members and friends of 9/11 victims.
