Maryland State Police Investigate Fatal Pedestrian Crash on Crain Highway

UPPER MARLBORO, Md. — Maryland State Police are investigating a fatal crash that claimed the life of a pedestrian early Friday morning in Prince George’s County.

The incident occurred shortly after 5:30 a.m. on northbound U.S. 301 (Crain Highway) near Croom Road. Authorities said the pedestrian, whose identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to a preliminary investigation, the pedestrian had been involved in a prior crash before walking into lane 3 of the highway, where they were struck by a Ford traveling northbound. The driver of the Ford was uninjured, police said.

All lanes of northbound Crain Highway remain closed as the Maryland State Police Crash Team continues to investigate the cause of the crash. No further details have been released.
