MANASSAS, Va. — A 61-year-old man died after suffering a medical emergency that caused a single-vehicle crash on Wednesday evening, according to police.

Crash investigators responded to the scene at the intersection of Centreville Road and Leland Road around 6:27 p.m. on September 4. Authorities said the man was driving a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee southbound on Centreville Road when he appeared to experience a medical emergency. The vehicle crossed into the northbound lanes and left the roadway, striking a bush.

The crash caused only minor damage to the vehicle, but the driver was transported to a local hospital, where he later died. Following the investigation, police determined that the death was due to the medical emergency and classified the case as a death investigation, not a fatal crash.
