WILMINGTON, Del. — Delaware State Police have arrested 18-year-old Hassan Bratcher and a 13-year-old male, both of Wilmington, for their involvement in a strong-arm robbery that occurred on September 1, 2024.

At approximately 1:06 a.m., troopers responded to a report of a robbery near Maryland Avenue and West Summit Avenue. The 21-year-old victim had been riding his bicycle when he approached four males to inquire about illicit substances. After the suspects declined, they demanded the victim’s belongings and assaulted him, pushing him to the ground and repeatedly punching and kicking him before fleeing with his property.

New Castle County Police Department (NCCPD) officers, conducting routine patrols, observed the suspects fleeing the scene. Bratcher was apprehended with some of the victim’s property found nearby. The 13-year-old suspect was caught riding the victim’s bicycle and initially provided a false name, but was later identified by a parent.

Despite searching the area, officers were unable to locate the remaining two suspects, who are described as black males. Surveillance footage is not yet available.

The 13-year-old was released into his parent’s custody, with charges pending. Bratcher was taken to Troop 2 and charged with multiple offenses. The investigation remains ongoing.
