Atlantic City Police Investigating Two Overnight Shootings

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. — The Atlantic City Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit is investigating two separate shootings that occurred overnight, leaving two men wounded.

The first incident took place on August 31, 2024, at approximately 8:38 p.m., when patrol officers responded to the 600 block of Howard Avenue following a ShotSpotter alert. Officers found evidence of gunfire at the scene. Shortly thereafter, a 35-year-old man from Atlantic City arrived at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Division, with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.

A second shooting occurred later that night at around 11:13 p.m. in the 100-south block of Michigan Avenue. A 36-year-old man from Deptford, New Jersey, was also transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center with a non-life-threatening injury.

Both incidents are under investigation, and no further information is currently available.
