JACKSON TOWNSHIP, N.J. — The 16th Annual Wounded Warrior parade and escort, a cherished event in Jackson Township, will take place on Saturday, October 12, 2024.

The event, organized by Mayor Mike Reina in collaboration with the Central Jersey Rifle and Pistol Club, honors Wounded Veterans from the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars, as well as veterans from Vietnam, Korea, and World War II.

The day’s activities will begin around 9:00 a.m. at the Jackson Justice Complex, where veterans will gather before their escorted ride to the Central Jersey Rifle and Pistol Club on South Stump Tavern Road.

The escort, scheduled to depart at approximately 9:30 a.m., will include the Jackson Township Police Department, Jackson Township Volunteer Fire Companies, the Jackson Township First Aid Squad, motorcycle groups, and other community volunteers.

Mayor Reina, who has hosted this event since he took office in 2008, expressed his deep appreciation for the veterans and encouraged the community to show their support along the parade route.

“The freedoms we enjoy as Americans have been earned through great sacrifice. We owe a profound debt to those who have defended our nation, many of whom carry permanent injuries from their service. It has been a true privilege to ride alongside these heroes each year as we escort them. Your support, which takes only a few minutes, will create lasting memories for these brave soldiers,” said Mayor Reina.

Residents and organizations are invited to line West Veterans Highway and South Stump Tavern Road, waving flags and holding banners to honor the veterans as they pass. Spectators are encouraged to safely park along the route to participate in this tribute.

For those interested in joining the event, whether as participants or supporters, Mayor Reina’s office can be contacted at 732-928-1200 ext. 1211. Wounded Warriors and Veterans wishing to attend are asked to email Al Dolce at njgunfun@gmail.com.
