NEW YORK, N.Y. — A 15-year-old male has been arrested and charged in connection with the fatal shooting of a 54-year-old man in Brooklyn, the New York City Police Department announced on Thursday.
The incident occurred on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at approximately 3:40 p.m. Officers responded to a 911 call reporting an assault in progress at 751 Monroe Street, within the confines of the 81st Precinct.
Upon arrival, officers found Darryl McMillan, 54, with a gunshot wound to the chest. EMS quickly transported McMillan to NYC Health and Hospitals/Kings County, where he was pronounced dead.
Following an investigation, police arrested a 15-year-old male on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. He has been charged with murder and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon.
The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting. “This is what happened,” the New York City Police Department said in a statement.
