LAKEWOOD, N.J. — The Lakewood Board of Fire Commissioners, along with Fire Chief Jonathan Yahr, announced that the Lakewood Fire Department has been awarded a $75,000 grant under the American Rescue Plan Firefighters Grant program. This funding, provided at no cost to the fire district, will be allocated towards acquiring crucial Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for Lakewood’s firefighting personnel.
The grant will equip firefighters with state-of-the-art PPE, enhancing their ability to maintain the highest standards of safety and preparedness. The funding highlights the ongoing commitment of federal and state governments to support local firefighting forces and ensure their safety in emergency situations.
