CINNAMINSON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Saturday, August 17, 2024) — A Philadelphia man was apprehended Friday evening after an attempted robbery at an AT&T store in Cinnaminson Township, police said. The suspect, believed to be part of a criminal group involved in multiple robberies across four states, was taken into custody following a brief foot chase and search involving a K-9 unit.

Cinnaminson Township Police were dispatched to the AT&T store at 1253 S Route 130 around 8 p.m. on August 16 in response to a robbery in progress. Upon their arrival, officers observed a getaway vehicle speeding away from the parking lot. Meanwhile, a second suspect exited the store and fled on foot after being confronted by Officer Josh Lillagore.

Officer Lillagore pursued the suspect on foot, but the suspect evaded capture by hiding in the nearby Sweetwater Condominium complex. A perimeter was quickly established, and Officer Harry Cicale, along with his K-9 partner Bane, initiated a search for the suspect. Bane successfully located the suspect hiding under a bush within the complex. Officers Robert Young and Kai Leibfried then took the suspect into custody without further incident.

The suspect, whose name has not been released, has been charged with second-degree robbery, third-degree conspiracy, third-degree criminal attempt, third-degree resisting arrest by flight, fourth-degree obstruction, and fourth-degree tampering with evidence. He was remanded to the Burlington County Jail.

Authorities believe the suspect is linked to approximately 33 other robberies in Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey. The Cinnaminson Township Police Department expressed gratitude to the Maple Shade, Riverton, and Palmyra Police Departments, as well as the United States Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), for their assistance in the incident.
