DAYTON, OH — A Dayton woman is in custody after a disturbing video surfaced on social media, allegedly showing her screaming at and hitting her child. The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of 21-year-old Haley Marie Ryan, who now faces charges of endangering children.
The video, which quickly went viral, prompted numerous notifications to the authorities. Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office detectives, in collaboration with the Dayton Police Department, swiftly investigated the incident. Ryan was located and taken into custody on Wednesday afternoon.
The child involved has been placed in the custody of Children’s Services and is reported to be safe.
“We want to thank the community for bringing this to our attention,” the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office stated. “Please remember, if you see something, say something!”
Formal charges against Ryan are pending as the investigation continues.
