Salisbury Dumpster Fire Under Investigation

SALISBURY, MD—A fire investigation is underway following a dumpster fire at 725 South Salisbury Boulevard. The incident, which occurred on August 5, 2024, at 9:37 PM, involved an 8 cubic yard dumpster owned by Republic Services.

The Salisbury Fire Department responded promptly, controlling the fire within five minutes with the help of three firefighters.

Fortunately, there were no injuries or deaths reported. The estimated damage to the dumpster is valued at $300, with no contents reported lost.

The fire was discovered by a citizen, and its origin is within the interior of the dumpster, though the cause remains under investigation.

The Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal has been called in to determine the cause of the fire and was officially requested by the Salisbury Police Department the following morning.
