ATLANTIC CITY, NJ — The highly anticipated 2024 Atlantic City Airshow, originally scheduled for August 13 and 14, has been canceled, as announced by the Greater Atlantic City Chamber, Visit Atlantic City, and the South Jersey Transportation Authority.
The cancellation follows the withdrawal of a major act from the lineup, which prompted the organizers to call off the event.
The specific act that withdrew has not been disclosed, but it has been confirmed that the U.S.A.F. Thunderbirds have ceased weekday performances and the Blue Angels did not include Atlantic City in their schedule for the year.
Despite the disappointment, the Executive Director of the South Jersey Transportation Authority, Stephen F. Dougherty, expressed a commitment to exploring future opportunities for the airshow.
He emphasized the ongoing collaboration with the Greater Atlantic City Chamber of Commerce and Visit Atlantic City to possibly bring the event back in future years.
The Atlantic City Airshow has been a significant event for over two decades, drawing large crowds to the city’s beaches and boardwalk.
n 2023, the event attracted approximately 485,000 attendees, highlighting its popularity and the impact of its absence this year on the local community and economy.
