CLEVELAND, OH – George Padgett of Cleveland is celebrating after winning the top prize of $20,000 from the Ohio Lottery’s Monopoly Cashword 10X scratch-off. Padgett expressed disbelief at his fortune, recounting how he scrutinized the ticket multiple times in astonishment.

The lucky purchase was made at Woodland Supermarket on Woodland Avenue in Cleveland. “I bought so many. I buy the 2’s, the 5’s and the 10’s, a couple of each,” Padgett explained. His persistence paid off when, while scratching the ticket, he realized it was a winner. “When I got up to six and seven words and I saw another one, I said, ‘ohh, this is a nice one’,” he recalled.

Padgett plans to share his windfall with his family, a gesture that underscores the joy of his win. After deductions for state and federal taxes totaling 28 percent, he will take home approximately $14,400.

Monopoly Cashword 10X is a $2 game offering players a chance to win up to $20,000. As of now, four top prizes remain in this popular game, giving hope to other lottery enthusiasts.
