Crisfield, MD — On the evening of July 10, 2024, a fire broke out at a portable toilet located at 26827 Old State Road in Crisfield, Somerset County. The incident, reported at 10:36 PM, was quickly addressed by the Crisfield Fire Department.
A passerby discovered the fire and alerted authorities. Six firefighters responded to the scene, bringing the blaze under control within five minutes. Fortunately, there were no injuries or fatalities resulting from the incident.
The damaged structure, a portable bathroom owned by Somerset County, sustained an estimated loss of $500. The fire department reported that there were no smoke alarms, fire alarms, or sprinklers present at the location.
