Two Men Charged for Taco Bell Shooting

Silver Spring, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 3rd District Investigative Section have arrested Souleymane Traore, 18, and Maximus Jean Jerome, 19, in connection to a shooting incident at a Taco Bell.

On Sunday, June 23 at approximately 6 p.m., officers responded to a report of a shooting at the Taco Bell located in the 8600 block of Colesville Road. The investigation revealed that three male victims were confronted inside the restaurant by Traore and Jerome, resulting in a physical altercation. After leaving the restaurant,

Traore returned, held the victims at gunpoint, and fired a shot that grazed the head of the brother of one of the victims who had arrived to intervene.

The shooting victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Detectives identified Traore and Jerome as the suspects on June 27 and obtained arrest warrants. Both men were arrested on July 1, and a search warrant executed at Traore’s residence yielded items of evidentiary value.

Traore and Jerome, both from Silver Spring, are charged with multiple offenses. Traore faces charges of attempted first-degree murder and first-degree assault, while Jerome faces multiple counts of second-degree assault. They are being held without bond at the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit.
