HEMPFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA — A Jeannette man has been arrested and charged following an overnight stabbing incident in Hempfield Township. Kyle Bair, 32, faces charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, and harassment. According to Pennsylvania State Police, Bair allegedly attacked another man with a hatchet, resulting in serious injuries.

The incident occurred following a verbal altercation off a gravel road near Brinkerton Road. Bair reportedly struck the victim’s vehicle multiple times with the hatchet, eventually causing a deep laceration to the victim’s torso. The injured man was initially taken to a local hospital and later flown to a Pittsburgh-area hospital for emergency surgery. He remains in critical but stable condition.

Troopers were alerted and responded to the hospital where the victim was admitted. Bair had transported the victim to the medical facility and stayed on the scene until he was detained by the authorities. During his arrest, Bair recounted the events leading to the assault to the officers.

Bair was subsequently arraigned and denied bail. He is currently being held in connection to the violent encounter.
