Fugitive Wanted for June Murder Sought in Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Philadelphia Police Department Homicide Unit is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying a male suspect shown in attached photos. This individual is wanted in connection with the murder of 43-year-old Carlton Brown.

On Sunday, June 30, 2024, around 3:17 a.m., officers from the 2nd District responded to a report of a “Person with a Gun” at 1400 Kerper Street. Upon arrival, they discovered an unresponsive male on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound to his head. The victim was identified as Carlton Brown, a resident of 13XX Knorr Street. Philadelphia Fire Medics #12 pronounced him dead at 3:24 a.m.

The preliminary investigation revealed that officers patrolling the area of 67XX Castor Avenue were approached by a civilian who reported a body on the highway. The officers were directed to 14XX Kerper Street, where they found the deceased with a gunshot wound to his head.

The suspect is described as a Black male wearing a black hoodie featuring a picture of Marilyn Monroe in a Philadelphia Football Jersey with the number 11. He was last seen fleeing the scene on a bicycle.
