Burlington County, NJ – Burlington County Prosecutor LaChia L. Bradshaw announced that Brandon Troughton, a 30-year-old resident of Riverside Township, has been charged with possessing Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM).
Troughton faces a third-degree charge of Endangering the Welfare of a Child for knowingly possessing images depicting the sexual exploitation of a child. He was arrested at his residence on July 2 and lodged in the Burlington County Jail in Mount Holly. Following a first appearance in Superior Court, he was released. The case is now being prepared for presentation to a grand jury for possible indictment.
The investigation began after the BCPO High-Tech Crimes Unit received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding Troughton’s online activities. It was discovered that Troughton had accessed and saved CSAM images on a personal electronic device.
The investigation was conducted by the BCPO High-Tech Crimes Unit, with assistance in executing a search warrant from the United States Homeland Security Investigations – Cherry Hill Office and the Riverside Township Police Department. The lead investigator is BCPO Detective Jillian Marin.
