Heat Advisory in Effect Until 8 PM for Parts of New Jersey and Pennsylvania

TRENTON, NJ — A heat advisory remains in effect until 8 p.m. this evening for several counties in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

Heat index values are expected to reach up to 103 degrees. The affected areas include Sussex, Warren, and Hunterdon counties in New Jersey, as well as Berks, Lehigh, Northampton, Upper Bucks, Western Chester, and Western Montgomery counties in Pennsylvania.

Residents are advised to take precautions to prevent heat illnesses. These include drinking plenty of fluids, staying in air-conditioned spaces, avoiding direct sunlight, and checking on relatives and neighbors.

Extra precautions should be taken when outdoors, such as wearing lightweight and loose-fitting clothing and limiting strenuous activities to early morning or evening hours. It is important to recognize and act on symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
