New Castle County, DE – Delaware State Police have arrested 33-year-old Moses Warren of Newark for several retail thefts that occurred over the past month at various businesses throughout New Castle County.
On June 30, at approximately 6:42 PM, a trooper responded to a report of shoplifting at the Kohl’s on 401 Rocky Run Boulevard in Wilmington. The report indicated that two black males and one white female fled towards Concord Pike after shoplifting. While en route, the trooper spotted a man matching the suspect’s description walking on Concord Pike near Rocky Run Boulevard. The trooper, recognizing the man as Moses Warren from previous investigations, took him into custody without incident. A search of Warren’s bag revealed over $2,000 worth of merchandise stolen from Kohl’s. The other two suspects were not located.
Warren was transported to Troop 2, where he was identified as the suspect in 18 shoplifting incidents from various businesses throughout New Castle County over the past month. Between May 26 and June 28, troopers investigated shopliftings involving Warren at locations including Giant, Rite Aid, Royal Farms, multiple Kohl’s stores, Sunglass Hut at Macy’s, Walgreens, and Wawa. The stolen merchandise, valued at over $40,000, included eyewear, household goods, and cigarettes. In some incidents, Warren was accompanied by unknown accomplices, including a Hispanic male on June 6 at a Wawa in Newark and a black male and female on June 20 at Sunglass Hut in Christiana Mall. Despite efforts, troopers have not yet identified Warren’s accomplices, and images of the suspects are not available.
A computer inquiry revealed that Warren had additional warrants for his arrest and an active No Contact Order with all Walgreens properties in Delaware, issued by the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas. Warren was charged with multiple offenses, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 11, and committed to Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on a $99,102 cash bond.
