WASHINGTON, DC – A tragic crash resulting in two fatalities is under investigation after occurring on Southern Avenue this past Tuesday afternoon. During a high-speed pursuit involving United States Park Police and Anne Arundel County Police, a silver BMW sedan, implicated in multiple robberies, lost control. The vehicle, speeding southbound in the 4100 block, veered right, mounted the sidewalk, and violently struck a tree, splitting in half upon impact.
The severe crash led to the ejection and subsequent apprehension of 19-year-old Demetri Koger of Southeast, who was charged with Fugitive from Justice and treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Two other occupants were extracted from the wreck by D.C. Fire and EMS; both were pronounced dead at the scene, one of whom has been identified as 17-year-old Dashawn Harris of Southeast. Efforts to identify the second decedent are ongoing.

WASHINGTON, DC—The D.C. Metro Police Department has issued a plea for community assistance in the search for a stolen dog named "Yurman" and the identification of a robbery suspect.
On Saturday at about 8:02 p.m., while walking her 2-year-old male French Bulldog in the 1700 block of Fort Davis Street, Southeast, a victim was approached by an armed suspect who subsequently fled with the dog in a vehicle.
The incident, captured by surveillance cameras, shows both the suspect and the vehicle involved.
