JACKSON, NJ—A Military Appreciation Day event will take place at 401 Bartley Road on Saturday, August 3, at 12 p.m. The event is organized by the Jackson Police Department, Knights of Columbus, Jackson VFW, Jackson American Legion, Amvets, Disabled American Veterans, and Jackson Township’s Mayor’s office.
A rain date is scheduled for Sunday, August 4.
The event will feature a static helicopter display, cornhole tournaments, touch-a-truck, face painting, arts and crafts, a live band, and food. This gathering aims to honor all those who have served in the military.
Proceeds from the event will support the “Send a Hero Home for the Holidays” and “Stop 22” charities. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 6-12, and free for children 5 and under. Veterans will receive free admission and a complimentary meal.
- Baltimore Burglary Suspect Arrested
Baltimore, MD — On July 2, at approximately 4:10 p.m., Southeast District officers responded to a burglary call in the 400 block of North Patterson Park Avenue.
Upon arrival, officers spoke with the caller, who reported witnessing an unknown individual enter the home through the rear. Officers entered the house and observed an unidentified male walking down the living room steps.
A 30-year-old male was arrested at the scene and transported to the Central Booking and Intake Facility (CBIF) for processing.
Police did not release the suspect's name at this time.
- Shooting Incident in Queens Leaves One Injured
Queens, NY — On Thursday, June 27, at approximately 11:55 p.m., a 23-year-old male was shot in the torso by an unknown individual near 83 Avenue and 242 Street.
The assailant recklessly discharged a firearm before fleeing the scene on foot. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) transported the victim to North Shore University Hospital, where he is in stable condition.
Police are investigating the incident and seeking any information that could lead to the identification and apprehension of the suspect.
- 26-Year-Old Shot at in Queens, Suspect Captured
City, State — On Tuesday, May 21, at approximately 7:55 a.m., a 26-year-old male was approached by a known individual in the vicinity of 201 Place and Linden Boulevard within the confines of the 113th Precinct. The assailant displayed a firearm and fired one round towards the victim.
The victim was not injured, and the suspect fled in a silver Chrysler Pacifica.
The suspect has been identified as Maurice Brown, a 42-year-old male. Police are investigating the incident and seeking any information that could lead to Brown's apprehension.
