Man Arrested for Harassment in Stolen Truck at Rehoboth Mall

Rehoboth Beach, DE — Delaware State Police arrested Jordan Newberry, 38, of Delmar, Delaware, for receiving stolen property and harassment at Rehoboth Mall.

On Sunday, at approximately 12:35 p.m., a trooper responded to Walmart on Rehoboth Mall Boulevard after a report of a suspicious person. An unknown male suspect was reported to have followed a victim around the store, causing her alarm. After leaving the store, the victim noticed the suspect continuing to follow her in a white GMC Sierra in the parking lot.

The victim notified the trooper when she saw the suspect near the Walmart. The trooper then contacted the suspect, identified as Jordan Newberry, at the Grocery Outlet in Rehoboth Mall and arrested him. The trooper found Newberry’s white GMC Sierra with Maryland registration, which had been reported stolen to the Salisbury Police Department on Saturday.

Newberry was taken to Troop 7 and charged with receiving stolen property and harassment. He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 3 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $6,000 cash bond.
