Denton, MD — A fire incident occurred at Walmart, located at 610 Legion Road, on Thursday at 2:47 PM. The fire, which originated from a clothing rack inside the store, caused an estimated $360 in damage to the contents. The structure itself was not damaged.
The fire was discovered by an employee and was quickly extinguished by Walmart staff within two minutes. No injuries or deaths were reported. Although smoke alarms and fire alarms were present, they did not activate during the incident.
The Caroline County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene, as the fire was determined to be incendiary, meaning it was intentionally set. The State Fire Marshal’s Office is conducting an ongoing investigation.
