MONROE TOWNSHIP, NJ – Monroe Township Police Department shared a light-hearted update today, celebrating the safe capture of a loose pig that had ventured a little too far from home. The playful escapade unfolded when officers found themselves chasing down the adventurous pig, which had wandered off, presumably “to the market.”
With assistance from the Jamesburg and Monroe Departments of Public Works and the expert help of Sarah and her team from Triple Nickel Farms, the police were able to secure the roaming animal safely. The incident, which caused quite a stir—or rather, a “squeal”—in the community, ended happily as the pig was returned home without any harm.

The Monroe Township Police expressed gratitude to everyone involved in the pig’s capture and safe return, highlighting the collaboration between local services and the community’s quick response.
The incident added a bit of unexpected excitement to the day and a humorous twist to the police department’s usual duties.
