False Bomb Threat Leads to Evacuation of Walgreens in Evesham

EVESHAM, NJ – A bomb threat called into a Walgreens on Route 73 prompted a significant police response and the evacuation of the store and nearby businesses on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at 11:35 AM. The Evesham Police Department, assisted by a police canine from the Burlington County Sheriff’s Department trained in explosive detection, conducted a thorough search of the premises.

The investigation revealed no explosives on the property, and the threat was determined to be false. This incident in Evesham is reportedly one of six similar threats made to Walgreens locations in Southern New Jersey and part of a broader series of twenty such threats across the country on the same day.

Authorities closed Route 73 temporarily as a safety precaution during the search and investigation. The Evesham Police are now working to identify the individual responsible for the hoax, which caused significant disruption and public alarm. Police are urging anyone with information to come forward to assist with the ongoing investigation.
