Stafford County Sheriff’s Deputies Arrest Woman for DUI and Multiple Offenses Following Shooting Incident

STAFFORD COUNTY, VA—A 40-year-old Stafford woman, Ikeyia Reed, faces multiple charges after a shooting incident escalated into a DUI arrest early Sunday morning. Stafford County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the situation following multiple reports of gunshots at the Suburban Extended Stay on Richmond Highway.

The incident unfolded on June 23, around 12:29 a.m., when deputies arrived at the scene and discovered both live and spent ammunition. The firearm used in the offense was located under a vehicle. According to the victim, a confrontation involving his ex-romantic partner, Reed, escalated from a verbal argument to a physical altercation.

Reed allegedly brandished the firearm, chased the victim while discharging the weapon, and subsequently struck him with her vehicle before fleeing. The victim reported only minor injuries from the vehicular assault.

Sergeant J.D. Hurt spotted the suspect’s vehicle on Paris Lane and coordinated with other units for apprehension. Upon making contact, deputies detained Reed, noting several signs of intoxication.

Further complications arose at the magistrate’s office, where Reed vandalized a bench.

Reed has been charged with reckless handling of a firearm, brandishing a firearm, assault and battery, driving under the influence, driving while suspended, and vandalism of jail property. She is currently being held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.
