Brick Recreation Launches Summer Art Programs for Teens

This summer, Brick, NJ Recreation is thrilled to introduce two new art programs designed for young artists aged 13 to 18. These programs aim to nurture creativity and provide hands-on experience in mural and acrylic painting.

The Magic of Mural Making: Community Art

This program invites participants to engage in the creation of a large-scale mural, contributing to a collaborative community artwork. The course covers basic painting techniques, acrylic paint mixing, and the process of designing and executing a public mural. Classes will run from July 15 to July 25, Monday through Thursday, from 9 AM to 12 PM at Civic Plaza. The participation fee is $125.

Adventures in Acrylic Paint

Focused on acrylic painting, this program will teach various techniques and approaches to using acrylics creatively. Starting with color theory and mixing, the course will guide students through the process of painting a landscape and then a second painting of their choice with instructor support. There are two sessions available: the first from July 15 to July 19 and the second from July 22 to July 26, both running from 10 AM to 12 PM at Civic Plaza. Each session costs $75.

These programs are perfect for teens looking to explore artistic expression or refine their skills in a supportive and creative environment.
