ABSECON, NJ – The Absecon Police Department has reported significant results from its zero-tolerance traffic campaign on U.S. Route 30, aimed at curbing aggressive driving. The initiative, supported by the Atlantic-Cape May Regional Highway Traffic Safety Office, has already yielded 222 violations from 175 motor vehicle stops in June alone.
The statistics underscore the necessity of continuous strict enforcement to mitigate the risks associated with aggressive driving behaviors, such as speeding, which are major contributors to traffic accidents. The primary objective of this campaign is to decrease serious injuries and fatalities on the highway, ensuring safer travel for both residents and visitors.
The enforcement efforts will persist at various intervals throughout the year. Motorists are urged to adhere to all speed limits and traffic laws. The Absecon Police Department appreciates the ongoing support from the Atlantic-Cape May Regional Highway Traffic Safety Office and remains committed to enhancing roadway safety in the region.
