NJ Sharing Network Honors Local Volunteers for Their Lifesaving Contributions

NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ—The NJ Sharing Network (NJSN), a key organization dedicated to organ and tissue donation in New Jersey, has honored several local residents with Volunteer Recognition Awards. These awards were given at the 2024 Volunteer Appreciation Reception held at the organization’s headquarters in New Providence.

The ceremony celebrated individuals who have made significant contributions to NJSN’s mission. Notably, Lakisha Bray of Plainfield and Rudy DiGilio of Washington, NJ, received the Community Hero Awards for their exceptional community outreach and education efforts.

The Youth Volunteer Awards were presented to Lavarra M. Hines, Jr. of West Orange, and Dhivyasree Manimaran of Piscataway, recognizing their energetic involvement in raising awareness among young people about the importance of organ and tissue donation.

Richard Hayes of Monroe Township was awarded the Jim Rhatican Legacy Award for his dedicated volunteerism and impactful presentations educating students on the critical need for organ and tissue donors.

Additionally, Cathy Cerbo of Mountain Lakes received the Donate Life Group Leader Award for her leadership in local advocacy, while Diane Borman of Summit was honored with the Wrapped In Love Volunteer Award for her contributions to providing comfort to donor families through handmade items.

The event also recognized AbbVie, Inc. with the Community Partner Award for their support in educational initiatives, highlighting their crucial role in NJSN’s public education efforts.
