ATLANTIC CITY, NJ – With all the news going on today about teens causing chaos at New Jersey’s boardwalks, we took a look back at some past boardwalk incidents and found this historical treasure published by the Press of Atlantic City exactly one hundred years ago today.
In the June 19, 1924 edition of the paper, it was reported that panic struck the boardwalk. People didn’t know if a building had just exploded. They heard loud booms following by plumes of smoke.
It turns out it was just two cameramen taking flash photos.
