NEWARK, DE – Delaware State Police are probing a robbery that unfolded at the Royal Farms store on Pulaski Highway. The incident occurred early Sunday morning and involved an armed suspect.
Two store employees were working in the back office around 3:08 a.m. on Sunday when they realized the security cameras had malfunctioned. Shortly afterward, they heard someone enter the store. Upon investigating, one employee saw an individual at a register. The suspect then revealed a firearm and demanded cash.
The confrontation escalated when the second employee emerged and observed the armed suspect. Complying with the assailant’s commands, this employee lay on the floor while the first handed over an undisclosed sum of money. The suspect fled immediately after receiving the money.
No injuries were reported in the robbery. The suspect, a black male wearing a face mask, remains unidentified as the video surveillance was not operational during the incident.
