Baltimore, MD – The Baltimore Police Department is investigating a fatal single-vehicle accident that occurred on June 15, 2024, at approximately 1:54 a.m. at the intersection of East Franklin Street and St. Paul Place.
Officers arrived at the scene to find a vehicle that had struck a utility pole. Medics transported the driver, a 38-year-old male, and the passenger, a 35-year-old male, to an area hospital. Despite life-saving efforts, the driver was pronounced deceased. The passenger remains in critical yet stable condition.
The investigation revealed that the vehicle was traveling westbound on Orleans Street when it lost control, mounted the median separating the eastbound and westbound lanes, struck the westbound curb, and went airborne before hitting a BGE utility pole.
AIU detectives have assumed control over the investigation.
