Heat Advisory and Excessive Heat Watch Issued for New Jersey
Mount Holly, NJ — The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory and an Excessive Heat Watch for parts of New Jersey, including Western Monmouth, Ocean, and Southeastern Burlington Counties.
The Heat Advisory is in effect from 10 a.m. Tuesday to 6 a.m. Wednesday. Heat index values are expected to reach up to 96 degrees. The Excessive Heat Watch will be in effect from Wednesday morning through Saturday evening, with heat index values possibly reaching up to 105 degrees.
Residents are advised that extreme heat and high humidity significantly increase the risk of heat-related illnesses. Precautionary measures include drinking plenty of fluids, staying in air-conditioned rooms, avoiding direct sunlight, and checking on relatives and neighbors.
Today’s weather forecast includes mostly sunny skies with a high near 87 degrees and a south wind of 5 to 10 mph. Tonight will be mostly clear with a low around 65 degrees.
On Tuesday, expect sunny conditions with a high near 91 degrees and a southwest wind of 5 to 10 mph. Tuesday night will be mostly clear with a low around 66 degrees. For Juneteenth, the forecast is sunny with a high near 92 degrees and a south wind of 5 to 10 mph.
The heat will intensify on Thursday, with a high near 96 degrees, and will continue to rise on Friday, reaching near 99 degrees. Nighttime temperatures will remain warm, with lows around 71 degrees on Thursday night and 72 degrees on Friday night.
