Gus now resides at the Deal Firehouse, where he provides companionship to the firefighters. The department extended a special thanks to Green Leaf Pet Resort for donating a comprehensive training program for Gus, aiding his transition into his new role as an ambassador for shelter pets.

The Deal Police Department, known for its strong support of animal welfare, shared that many of its officers have adopted rescue pets, integrating them into their families. The department’s commitment is further demonstrated through its annual Howl-Iday fundraiser, held in honor of the late officer Jeff Henry. This event, organized by Deal PBA Local 101, has been supporting local shelters with food, supplies, and monetary donations for the past nine years.
