NYPD Seeks Public Help to Identify Suspect in Central Park Grand Larceny

NEW YORK, NY – The New York City Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a grand larceny incident that occurred in Central Park. According to reports, the theft took place on Thursday, May 23, 2024, at around 3:00 PM.

The incident unfolded when an 83-year-old man, who was photographing the area near 94 West Drive inside the park, was approached by an unidentified individual. The suspect forcibly took the victim’s camera and fled the scene on foot. Fortunately, the victim did not sustain any injuries during the encounter.

The NYPD has released images of the suspect and is urging anyone with information to come forward to help in the ongoing investigation. The suspect’s identity remains unknown, and the direction in which the individual escaped is also unclear.
