Brick Township Distributes CDBG Funds to Local Service Organizations

BRICK TOWNSHIP, NJ — Brick Township recently allocated a total of $42,800 in support to various local service organizations through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program, sourced from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Mayor Lisa Crate and the Township Council acknowledged the recipients during the Council meeting on June 11.

The funds were distributed to enhance the services provided by these vital community organizations. Among the recipients were Arc Ocean County Chapter, receiving $2,500, and Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Ocean County, awarded $1,400. Other notable allocations included $4,500 to Caregiver Volunteers of Central Jersey, $1,500 to the Church of Visitation Community Lunch Program, and a significant $10,000 to Community Services for their Meals on Wheels program.

Further contributions were made to Contact of Ocean and Monmouth Counties and Dottie’s House, each receiving $1,500 and $4,500 respectively. The Interfaith Hospitality Network and Ocean’s Harbor House were also granted $2,500 each. Providence House received $7,500, the highest single allocation, reflecting its extensive service needs.

Smaller grants of $1,500 were also made to the Jersey Shore Council of Scouts, Family Promise of the Jersey Shore, and $1,400 to the Brick Morning Rotary Club.
