HOLMDEL, NJ — A significant traffic incident involving seven vehicles occurred earlier today on Highway 35 at the intersection with Laurel Avenue, leading to multiple injuries and road closure. Holmdel Township Police Department responded to the crash site at 1:17 PM.
Upon arrival, officers found one of the vehicles emitting smoke and a substantial amount of oil and gas leaking onto the roadway. Emergency services, including Holmdel Fire Department, Holmdel First Aid, and Middletown First Aid, were dispatched to manage the situation. A total of six individuals sustained injuries from the incident; fortunately, none were life-threatening.
Laurel Avenue was closed from the Highway 35 on-ramp to the intersection with Highway 35 for about two hours to facilitate the investigation and cleanup efforts. The road has since been reopened. Witnesses to the accident are urged to contact Holmdel Police at 732-946-4400.
