Illegal Fugitive Told Police He Was Pedro Martinez from Boston After Exposing Himself on Beach

HYANIS, MA—An incident at Hyannis Beach on Monday evening led to the arrest of a man for allegedly performing a lewd act in public. According to local police, the suspect, Caesar Perez Velasquez of Lawrence, initially provided a false name and claimed to be from Boston.

He said he was Pedro Martinez.

Responding to a 911 call from a concerned beachgoer, officers arrived at the scene to find Velasquez uncooperative during the arrest. Eyewitnesses expressed their shock, noting that such behavior was unexpected at a family-friendly location.

Further investigations revealed Velasquez’s complicated legal status, including a prior fugitive warrant from New Hampshire related to a case involving operating under the influence. Additionally, he is wanted by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement for removal from the United States.

Velasquez faces multiple charges, including lewd behavior, misleading a police officer, and being a fugitive from justice. If convicted, he could face a decade in prison and possible deportation.
