Unconscious Man Pronounced Dead After Being Found in Harlem

NEW YORK, NY — Early Saturday morning, police and EMS responded to a distress call regarding an unconscious male at 2211 Frederick Douglas Blvd in Harlem. The incident occurred within the jurisdiction of the 28th Precinct at approximately 3:15 AM. Officers discovered 40-year-old Guillermo Edgardo Ortiz Palacios unresponsive with head trauma.

Emergency Medical Services transported Ortiz Palacios to Mount Sinai Morningside, where he was pronounced deceased. The cause of death is pending determination by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

A person of interest related to this case has been taken into custody as the investigation continues.
