SEAFORD, DE—Delaware State Police arrested 31-year-old Jasmine Thomas from Bridgeville, Delaware, on felony drug charges following a traffic stop on Wednesday afternoon. The incident occurred on Concord Road in Seaford at approximately 1:00 PM.
Members of the Sussex County Governor’s Task Force and Delaware Probation and Parole officers were conducting patrols when they noticed a white Oldsmobile Silhouette with a suspended registration due to lack of insurance. After stopping the vehicle and contacting its four occupants, officers conducted a consensual search after informing the driver that the vehicle would be towed.
The initial search revealed empty bags suspected of containing heroin, prompting a further search of Thomas’ bookbag.
Inside the bookbag, police found approximately 4.26 grams of crack cocaine, 4.28 grams of cocaine, 85 bags containing around 0.595 grams of heroin, and $2,966 in cash suspected to be drug dealing proceeds. Thomas was arrested without incident and transported to Troop 5.
She was charged with possession with intent to deliver among other related charges and was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2. Thomas was released on her own recognizance following the arraignment.
