GERMANTOWN, MD — A local man’s optimism about winning big in the lottery finally paid off when he claimed a $50,000 prize from the Maryland Lottery’s 100X The Cash game.
The fortunate Germantown resident purchased his winning ticket while traveling through Cecil County, at the Royal Farms on 500 Mechanics Valley Road in North East. Although he began scratching the $20 ticket, he decided to pocket it and continue his journey, only to discover its worth the following day at his home.
Reflecting on his win, he expressed his excitement and recalled thinking, “This looks nice!” as he realized the significant amount he had won.
The man, an avid lottery player, has previously won smaller amounts ranging up to $2,000, but this marks his first substantial lottery success.
He plans to save his latest winnings to help fund a future home purchase, affirming his continued enthusiasm for playing lottery games, “Most definitely!”
