DOVER, DE — Early Sunday morning, Dover Police arrested two local teenagers following an attempted burglary at Dragon Land Smoke Shop on Forrest Avenue. The incident occurred at approximately 2:31 AM, with police quickly responding to an alarm activation at the shop.
Upon arrival, officers found the shop’s front glass broken, although entry had not been successfully made. Surveillance footage helped police identify the suspects, leading to a brief chase in the vicinity. A 16-year-old male and a 15-year-old male were apprehended, while a third suspect managed to escape.
Further investigation linked the 16-year-old to additional incidents, including two burglaries in February at Sky Vape Smoke Shop and Cosmic Vape Smoke Shop, as well as an attempted burglary at Cosmic Smoke Vape Shop in April.
Charges against the 16-year-old include four counts each of third-degree burglary and criminal mischief, three counts of theft, two counts of second-degree conspiracy, resisting arrest, and wearing a disguise during the commission of a felony.
The 15-year-old faces charges of attempted third-degree burglary, second-degree conspiracy, resisting arrest, and wearing a disguise.
Both were released to their guardians following processing at Dover Police Department.
