A coordinated search effort is ongoing for Christopher Therien, a man previously entered into the National Database as missing and endangered. The incident began early on June 3, when patrol officers found Therien sleeping in Forge Pond Park around 3:00 AM.

Upon being informed of the park’s operational hours and rules, Therien unexpectedly ran towards the water, swimming across Forge Pond. He then took a kayak from a nearby resident’s backyard and paddled into a wooded area behind the Ocean County Golf Course.
