Robbery During Facebook Marketplace Transaction in the Bronx

BRONX, NY – A robbery was reported on Thursday at 6:31 PM in the area of Teller Avenue and East 171 Street, where a 30-year-old man was assaulted during a supposed transaction. The victim had arranged to meet three individuals to purchase an e-bike advertised on Facebook Marketplace.

The suspects, acting together, threatened the victim with a knife and then proceeded to punch and kick him multiple times. During the assault, they forcibly took his wallet, which contained bank cards and $800 in cash. Following the attack, the perpetrators fled westbound on East 171 Street on foot.

The victim sustained minor injuries but declined medical treatment. Descriptions of the suspects have been provided by authorities who are seeking the public’s help in identifying them. The first suspect is described as approximately 5’8” tall with a light complexion and slim build, wearing a black mask, black hooded sweatshirt, black pants, and black and white sneakers. The second suspect, similarly built and complexioned, was seen in a black mask, black hooded sweatshirt, black pants, and gray sneakers. The third suspect was wearing a black vest over a gray hooded sweatshirt, gray pants, and black and white sneakers.
